CESI Review: We Did The Research

Consumer Education Services, Inc. (CESI) is a non-profit organization that offers debt relief options to individuals nationwide. According to the company’s website, www.cesisolutions.org, CESI was founded in 1998 and provides non-profit credit counseling and debt consolidation options. The company’s office is located at 3724 National Dr., Suite 220, Raleigh, NC, 27612 and CESI can be reached at 866-484-5373.

CESI Pros and Cons

According to a review conducted by bestcompany.com, CESI has a number of accreditations. They are accredited by both the Financial Counseling Association of America (FCAA) and the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). CESI also provides a wide variety of credit counseling and education services to help customers become debt free. Some of these services include housing counseling, bankruptcy counseling, credit counseling, and reverse mortgage counseling. There is a downside to consider. In 2004 the IRS took CESI to court because it was thought to be a for-profit company masquerading as a nonprofit. Also, if you are located in the state of Tennessee, you will not be eligible to use the services provided by CESI. The company does cover 49 of the 50 states in the U.S., it does not provide its services to those living in Tennessee. Residents of Tennessee seeking debt relief will have to look elsewhere. Information from this review was taken on July 13, 2023.

CESI Cost

Bestdebtcompanys.com conducted a review on CESI and states that CESI has a lack of transparency. The review said that CESI doesn’t disclose the actual interest rates offered on consolidation loans and doesn’t disclose the up-front or monthly fees associated with using their services. For actual fee information it is best to contact the company directly. Information from this review was taken on July 13, 2023.
